Step it Up Saturday

Hi everyone; so glad to be back to the blog.  I went from flu to double ear infection and now deaf in one ear temporarily while they try to get swelling down.  Believe it or not no pain just pressure so I think I’m pretty lucky!

I wanted to share with you some techniques each Saturday to show you simple ideas to step up your projects.  Many years ago I used to see this used in scrapbooking a lot to help go from pretty to Wow status.  So I hope you will all join me and trying with projects that you do to see how to just add the little oomph to get it there.

Today we are working with the Narrow Note Cards that are currently in our Occasions Catalog.  These are adorable to create with.  I hope you will share some of your projects on what you consider Stepping It Up.  I would love to see what ideas you have as well.  Let’s keep this going and see all the different projects we can do this with!

I hope you enjoy this set, it was a quick idea, but I see how I can get better and better at this!!  Let’s share what everyone else thinks we can do!

1 st card was completely stamped on the card base with a tag added.  I did use the New Stampin’ Up! Blends Alcohol Pens.  I absolutely LOVE THEM.  Not sure why this photo seems blurry.  But I guess I better figure out before I do more.

The next card I added some designer series paper, Fussy Cut my Panda Bear and cut the balloon out of Bermuda Bay Cardstock to pop up a bit.  I also added and extra tag to pop the color out some more.

The last card I cut the designer series paper down a little and added some Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  I fussy cut my panda out again adding the balloon.  Next I added some tutti fruiti sequins.  This step draws your eyes to all of the colors and it did not take much longer than the first card with the exception of the fussy cutting (never my favorite part but worth it!).

Let’s take a look at all three together.  I think they are all adorable but the options are endless!

Hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial and be expecting bigger and better in the upcoming Saturdays!!  Not to mention better pictures.

Heartfelt Blooms and a Quick Calendar

Hi everyone!!  What a wonderful day it has been, I thought about getting home from work today just to upload my new video.  Every time I think I got this video process down I learn something new which is awesome, just means eventually I might be a pro lol.  So I did a video of a project I shared at my open house yesterday which was great fun, we did three projects and tonight I’m sharing how to do a simple pedestal card.  After I made it I thought of lots of things you can actually do with it, for example instead of a mini-calendar what about a cute pictures of your kids, spouse, pets?  Or how about making a little pocket on it to add affirmations, quotes or something to remind you of how great you are?  Don’t forget you can get Heartfelt Blooms free with any $50 purchase!!

Here is the video to make it, but I challenge you to try something new and share it with me.  My juices just started flowing.    This week-end I had a drawing for those who attended my Open House, well how about this at the end of this week I will give away the same set I gave away yesterday?  Post a project on my facebook page at this link or comment on this page.  I will pick a Random name next monday giving everyone at least a week!

Ok so to make the Calendar pedestal you need the following:

4.25” x 11” long I used Melon Mambo scoring at 5.5”

4” x 4” of Melon Mambo scoring at .5”, 2” and 3.5”

4” x 5.25 of Whisper White Cardstock

Melon Mambo Ink

Clear faceted gems

and your choice of what you are matting, I did a calendar with Lime Twist but I recommend stay with the same color you made the pedestal with.   Please follow along on the tutorial and while you are there please subscribe to get my latest videos!

Yesterday I received my “Calypso Coral” boxes in the mail.  I have been waiting all week for them.  I absolutely love getting Paper Pumpkin, it’s so much fun to be surprised each month with a new project.  The best part it comes with everything you need right there is the beautiful little package.  This month it was for Valentines but with a different spin on the colors.  Absolutely adorable!!

Take a look at the project I worked on this morning.

Just a quick reminder that for any order over $50 you are eligible to pick a product from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  Take a look inside the Sale A Bration catalog by clicking the picture below.

Petal Palette and New Monthly Hostess Code

Hi everyone, as most of you are aware I was down with a yuck flu for the past week!  But yesterday I forced myself up and took a long hot shower so that I could make myself feel better.  It definitely worked.  I missed chatting with everyone, but I sure appreciate the messages and prayers that I received they absolutely were a blessing!

Yesterday I decided to work on my favorite bundle and that is the Petal Palette with the Petal Passion Designer Paper.  Omigosh I love all of the black and white, it’s classic, however add that pop of color and it’s so much more.  I even played with my Stampin’ Up Blends!  If you have not got those, it’s a must.  You can start small and purchase 1 set at a time or buy the whole kit at once.  I promise you will not regret it!

I did a video that really takes much longer than what the card actually takes, but gives you a couple of ideas to try!

I hope you enjoyed the video and I know you can tell I’m still got a cold going on but definitely getting better!

The New Hostess Code this month is B4W3TGD6.  Don’t Forget for every $50 spent you get to pick a free item from Sale-A-Bration Catalog!  Also if you spend $150 please let me know so I can give you a personal code for more free goodies!

Join a Great Team

Have you thought about joining a team of crafters?  To earn extra monies for things or to just get discounts on high quality crafting supplies for your own creativity?  Or taking another direction in your career?

Let me share the reason I joined.  I joined to find others to share my craft with.  Living in a small town coming from a large city where supplies were in abundance, crafting retreats and late night scraps were gone.  I’ve been a customer of Stampin’ Up! for many years, but just for my own hobby.  When I moved to T or C, NM, I started thinking about why not share what I love doing.  Opportunity to meet new people and believe me did I ever.  I literally have met people from all over the world that I have gotten to know online and then met at conferences.  Yes I have to admit I love going to our OnStage conferences.

Stampin’ Up! recognizes not everyone wants to start a business and that they would like to invite them to be involved as well to get insider tips on new items and trending projects.

Well hold on because Stampin’ Up! is offering a wonderful opportunity this month!  Not only can you get $125 worth of supplies in your starter kit for only $99, they are also offering for you to pick out two (2) extra stamp sets for free. You cannot beat that!  One more kicker, the price of the stamp sets does not matter you can pick out the two most expensive ones to get for free.

If you are interested or have questions on how it works, please send me an email at or click the link below

Flu in New Mexico and a change to schedule.

So sorry it’s been awhile since I posted, preparing for my class last Sunday (which was awesome) and then by evening I felt something coming on and by morning down for the count.  Today is my first day being able to sit up, lots of steroids, shots and antibiotics and I will survive.  My goodness it just knocked me for a loop.

So let’s update you with things so far.   Love Today Planner class was wonderful, by now all online class members have received their goodies and their private link for their video.  I hope you enjoy the video I was definitely in a jolly mood.  Here is a couple of pics from my set up and some of the items we were using.

One thing I thought was really great with this class was several brought photos and matted them to the front of their months tabs and it looked so adorable!  I will grab pictures for everyone to see.  This was not just a planner for them it was memories, journaling and keepsakes!  Guaranteed to keep forever.  Some products we used with the class and is so great to have on hand!

If you are still interested in taking the online version please send me a message and I will get you hooked up!  I promise you wont regret journaling at the same time as planning.

Now the change to my schedule, I was having a big open house this Sunday, but unfortunately I will have to reschedule until January 21st due to this illness I’ve gotten way behind.  I hope everyone understands and realizes it gives me more time to make it even better, yay us!

New Year! New Beginnings!

As everyone can see I have a new website which is awesome but in transition somehow lost most of my year!  The positive is that it is set up the way I like and easier to find the things you would like to see!  I will be posting all of my new posts and special on Monday, the New Year.  I’m so excited about this year and can’t wait to share everything coming your way. So many new things that I am all atwitter (my word for the year lol). If you have things you would like to see don’t hesitate let me know I’m happy to try anything crafty even if it becomes one of those Pinterest Fails!  Due to losing a lot of my projects I will be uploading photos in the gallery this weekend.  Make sure you follow me and please sign up for the newsletter you never know what might be in it.

This year has been a great year!  Personally and professionally!  Meaning my crafty business, I did more online than usual and I’m glad that I can reach more people.   I also got to travel and not only meet new people but become part of a new family.  Stampin’ Up!  has been  a blessing, in 2018 I was able to attend both OnStages, San Diego and Salt Lake City!  I love the fact my husband loves to come with me, he also has met some great friends from around the country.  One Daughter graduated from NMSU and got engaged, another daughter started her junior year at Willamette University and my oldest is finishing up her degree in Software engineering!  Take a look at some of the fun we had this year!!
